Welcome to Bona Fido Dog Behaviour and Training, where I offer personalised training sessions, expert behaviour consultations, and fun-filled puppy classes in in my dedicated training facility near Launceston, Cornwall.
At Bona Fido, I use motivation-based methods that are both rewarding and fun for you and your dog. My training facility near Launceston includes a consulting room, a large secure paddock, and a smaller training area with an indoor space, ensuring a comfortable and effective learning environment.
One-to-one Training
My one-to-one training sessions can be tailored to meet your specific needs. With the undivided attention of a trainer and no other dogs to distract them, your dog can learn in a focused and supportive environment, achieving quicker and more effective results.
Behaviour Consultations
As a certified clinical animal behaviourist, I provide advice and support for behavioural problems in dogs and help you work towards resolving them.
After a referral from your vet to rule out any physical reasons for your dog's behaviour, I will work with you to identify its root cause and then develop a customised modification programme to help your both.
Puppy Classes
My puppy training classes are designed to teach essential social skills and positive behaviours using gentle and effective methods.
Enrol your puppy (under 16 weeks old) in one of my small classes, limited to six puppies, for a rewarding start to their training journey.
About Me
Hi, I'm Carol Valvona, and I've been passionate about animals my entire life. We live with a delightful mix of fury and feathery friends, including dogs, donkeys, goats, cats, rabbits, and chickens.
I started my training journey at the age of 12, with my first border collie, and have never looked back. With over 25 years of experience in the behaviour field, I've worked with many species but I have decided to focus on my first passion – dogs.
I hold an MSc in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton University and am a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist accredited by the CCAB. As a proud member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and a Registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour Training Council (ABTC), I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every training session.
